Family-owned and operated since 2008, 5280 Pipeline president, Michael Johnson, values loyalty, integrity, and self-reliance as the foundation of a ‘my word is my bond’ approach to business.
Shortly after high school, Michael merged personal and professional aspirations to start his first neighborhood landscaping business. A few years later, Michael transitioned to commercial construction, where he learned the finer points of heavy earthwork at excavation contractor, Blanding Dirt Work.
Over several years, Michael grew into a supervisory position, estimating, managing, and running heavy equipment on a wide range of assignments from basement excavation and backfilling to water and sewer work for large-scale home builders like DR Horton.
Michael continued to build a well-rounded, hands-on understanding of commercial construction. He picked up valuable experience working with general contractors, supervising multiple, concurrent crews, and navigating a complex maze of vendors, permitting, scheduling, execution, and inspections on significant, high-value scopes of work.
5280 Pipeline was founded in 2008 and quickly thrived. Building on the experience of starting a residential landscaping business as a young man and combining it with the tremendous wealth of real-world knowledge of commercial construction, Michael endeavors to apply big project logic to personal-scale properties.
As 5280 Pipeline has grown, Michael’s partner in life and wife, Marlise Johnson, has become his partner in business. Detail-oriented and very tech-savvy, Marlise supports Michael with organizational management and operations. She maintains 5280 Pipeline’s many municipal water and sewer licenses throughout metro-Denver including Jefferson County, Englewood, Arvada, Littleton, Golden, Highlands Ranch, and your town too. She coordinates permitting and inspections, accounting, and whatever else is needed to help ensure Michael’s time is spent in the field working personally with our clients.
5280 Pipeline offers turn-key services to residential homeowners, general contractors, real estate professionals, and developers. While commercial-scale projects interface with a wide range of professional peers with knowledge of construction’s many complexities, homeowners may not have any exposure at all to the means, methods, or materials of construction. 5280 Pipeline treats every project the same, small or large, near-term or long-term, we value building a personal relationship with each client’s needs, expectations, and finished work. Sewer and water projects are often urgent and require 24/7 willingness. Landscaping projects bring out our creative best and make happy homeowners smile. Earthwork excavation combines skill and experience and lays the foundation for larger scopes. 5280 Pipeline is committed to customer satisfaction in everything we do, and our work speaks for itself.
